Your health is one of your most important assets and our preventive and general dental services are here to help you make the most of it. We work hard to prevent problems before they start, examining you carefully at each visit while listening closely and treating you with compassion.

The results? Healthy, sparkling smiles that stay with you for life!

Comprehensive Exams

Because we are always on the lookout for the earliest signs of trouble – from tiny spots of decay to symptoms of gum disease – we take plenty of time to do a full exam at every visit, even checking you for oral cancer and any symptoms of sleep apnea.

While each exam is in-depth, your first exam with us is quite special. Thanks to a short, one-on-one discovery conversation, along with periodontal and oral cancer screenings, we are able to better understand what your teeth and gums may be trying to tell you about your oral and overall health — in just about an hour. Kids and adults alike appreciate the improved comfort of our digital x-rays and the up-close view they can get of their mouths with the intraoral camera. It’s a comprehensive exam you will never forget. Our patients love it!

Family Dentistry

Sure, all of our dentistry is for families, but there are some services families use more than others. We welcome toddlers for an initial cleaning and examination of their new teeth. We like to keep an eye on how teeth are coming in and how jaw development is progressing. When those first tiny teeth come in, parents also come to us for sealants and fluoride protection. And during every visit with your little ones, we go out of our way to make dentistry pleasant and even fun: It’s an important part of building a lifetime habit of great dental care.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral Cancer Screenings Did you know that mouth cancer is one of the fastest-growing cancers? The truth is, every day, mouth cancer is diagnosed in about 100 individuals. That means that thousands of people in the United States will be newly diagnosed with oral cancer this year alone. The earlier we detect the disease, the better the odds for successful treatment. That’s why we perform oral cancer screenings at every visit, checking your mouth for any suspicious-looking swelling, bumps, or sores. We also use advanced VELscope technology to supplement our visual and manual screening. This non-invasive, handheld device emits blue light to expose abnormalities on your tongue and in your mouth that cannot be seen or felt. A VELscope screening takes less than two minutes, but it could save your life!

X-Rays

X-Rays Because we care about our patients’ health and well being, we have recently upgraded our x-rays to a brand new, state-of-the-art digital system. Digital x-rays offer far more comfort to our patients and our team is raving about how sharp and clear the images are. Plus, digital x-rays expose both patients and staff to far less radiation than traditional x-rays. And to top it all off, we can show you your x-ray results immediately on a computer and save them to compare with future results. It’s just one more way Limestone Dental Associates shows how much we care.

Hygiene

Professional cleanings go a long way toward keeping your mouth its healthiest and most sparkling. These dental cleanings not only remove old stains and debris, they deep clean your gum line, clearing away the bacteria that cause gum disease, cavities, and tooth loss. For the ultimate in efficiency and comfort, we use both the Cavitron to clean with super-gentle oscillating sound waves to vibrate tartar away from your teeth, and the Prophy-Jet, an efficient and gentle air-polishing system.

Periodontal Therapy

Gum disease is serious business. That’s why we measure your gum pockets with our Digital Periodontal Charting system. This system allows your hygienist to quickly and comfortably screen for gum disease during your cleaning.

Gum disease – also known as periodontal disease – isn’t usually recognizable by its symptoms, though sometimes you might experience some bleeding while brushing your teeth. Other symptoms include: painful, receding, or swollen gums; shifting or loose teeth; and bad breath. If you notice any of these things, please call us right away. Our periodontal treatments can end your infection and bring your gums back to ideal health.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride treatments aren’t just for kids. Anyone can get a cavity or experience sensitivity! You see, when we consume acidic foods or drinks such as sodas or fail to brush as well as we should, enamel is damaged. Even fluoridated water may not be enough to protect your teeth.

Our remineralizing fluoride treatments help strengthen your teeth and reverse this damage, even stop the progress of newly formed cavities and adult root tooth decay. We recommend that children receive a fluoride treatment at every visit and that adults take advantage of this protectant as often as our doctors recommend.

Mouthguards

Mouthguards Don’t take chances with your precious smile! Both our sports mouthguards and our nightguards protect your teeth from wear and tear.

Parents love that our kids’ guards are custom made to perfectly fit their children’s mouths, increasing protection and comfort while decreasing their risk for concussions. These sports guards are so effective we have made them for entire teams!

If you grind or clench your teeth, especially while you are sleeping – a condition also known as bruxism – talk to us about our nighttime dental guards. These mouthguards are especially designed to minimize the damage from bruxism, protect your teeth, and in some cases, even stop the discomfort of TMJ disorder.

Snoring & Sleep Apnea Treatment

Snoring & Sleep Apnea Treatment Do you sleep with someone who snores? Do you snore yourself? Either way, you know how badly it can disrupt your night, leaving you feeling tired. But snoring doesn’t just keep you awake with noise. It could also be a sign of potentially deadly sleep apnea, and it often leads to dry mouth, a condition also known as xerostomia. Without the proper balance of moisture from saliva, your mouth can become sore or infected, and your teeth weakened by acids and bacteria.

We can help you protect your grin with our premier snoring appliance, the TAP 3 dental appliance for sleep apnea and snoring. This custom-fitted device gently holds the jaw forward to keep your airway open and help you sleep deeply and quietly all through the night. No over-the-counter snore guard can compete with the comfort, ease, and effectiveness of the TAP 3 appliance.

Technology

We love technology – especially here in our dental office. Why? It makes almost any dental treatment faster, easier, and more effective.

We offer:

  • Computerized treatment rooms – Patients really appreciate the convenience and ease of record access.
  • Intraoral camera – This remarkable tool lets you see magnified images of the inside of your mouth right along with the doctor. It is both educational and enlightening.
  • Soft tissue laser– Our soft tissue laser produces an intense and very narrow beam of pulsed light energy that can actually vaporize problem tissue. With this handy little laser we can zap cold sores, heal lesions, and perform minor surgeries without stitches!

Thanks so much for your persistence in working on my teeth. I really appreciate all your effort and staying up on new approaches. It’s a nice feeling not to be embarrassed when I smile.
